Prayer

December - PRAYER FUCUS

Please pray for:

Those in residential homes.

Those unable to come to church at the moment or recovering from illness, operations or treatment.

Also please remember those who have been bereaved during the year as they face the first Christmas after their bereavement.

Please pray for the following Christmas services, for all those taking part in preparing and leading them, and for all who will come, especially for guests who do not usually attend church:

·        Messy Church Christingle on Saturday 8th December;

·        Nativity and Toy Service on Sunday 16th December;

·        Fellowship Club Christmas Service on Tuesday 18th December;

·        Carol Service on Sunday 23rd December

·       Christmas Day morning service.

Also please pray for:

·        the Oasis carol-singing in the community on Saturday 15th December, that it will be well-received and communicate the Christmas message to our neighbours;

·        carol-singing and special services which will be held in residential homes over the Christmas period.

A recent report revealed a rise of 4% in homelessness since last year, to a total of 320,000.

That means up to 36 new people become homeless each day.

Please pray for all who will have no-where to stay this Christmas, and for the organisations and volunteers who will be providing food, shelter and welcome for homeless people.

Also please pray for the work of Azalea over the Christmas period:

·        for protection for the women, who are particularly vulnerable to abuse and violence at this time of the year;

·        for the Christmas meal and party on Saturday 22nd December;

·        for the Drop-In Centre, which will be open on both Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, and for the staff and volunteers who will be working there on those days.
